Bakgrund: I samband med att en närstående vårdas för psykiskohälsa eller sjukdom påverkas anhöriga. Både rollen som anhörig och dess situation påverkas negativt med allt ifrån stigmatisering till socialisolering och utanförskap. Kontakten med professionella vårdgivare som anhörig framstår i tidigare forskning som ansträngd trots tydliga rättigheter till stöd och delaktighet.

Syfte:  Syftet med studien var att beskriva hur vuxna anhöriga till närstående med psykisk ohälsa erfar kontakten med psykiatrisk vård.

Metod: Studien har litteraturbaserad design vidare omnämnt som litteraturstudie vilket inkluderar elva artiklar med kvalitativansats. Data har tagits fram och analyserats med hjälp av Evans fyrstegsanalys.

Resultat: Studien resulterade i tre teman med vardera två underteman:  Erfarenheter av delaktighet; med undertema delaktighet i planeringen av vården till närstående och sekretessens påverkan på delaktighet.  Erfarenheter av bemötande; med undertema kontakten med vårdgivaren och stödet till anhöriga från vårdgivaren. Erfarenheter av vården till närstående; med undertema behandlingsmetoder av närstående samt närstående vårdas med tvång.

Diskussion: I denna litteraturstudie används Birgitta Andershed doktorsavhandling; ”Att vara nära anhörig i livets slut: Delaktighet i ljuset - delaktighet i mörkret” som teoretisk utgångspunkt för att diskutera mörkret och ljuset i den psykiatriska vården, hur mörkret och ljuset för anhöriga erfars samt specialistsjuksköterskan i kontakten med anhöriga. Diskussionen avslutas med en fristående del rörande de ständigt återkommande negativa erfarenheterna av vård

Background: When a next of kin is professionally cared for mental health issues or illness, the relatives is affected. Both the role as a relative and its situation are adversely affected by everything from stigmatization to social isolation and exclusion. The contact with professional care providers as a relative appears in previous research as strained despite clear rights to support and participation.

Aim: The purpose of the study was to describe how adult relatives of next of kins with mental illness experience the contact with psychiatric care.

Method: The study has a literature-based design, further referred to as a review, which includes eleven qualitative articles. Data has been developed and analysed using Evans four steps analysis

Results: The study resulted in three themes each with two subthemes: Experience of participation; with subtheme: Care planning to next of kins and The impact of Secrecy on participation. Experience of reply; with subtheme: The contact with the health care provider and the support of relatives from the healthcare provider. Experience of care to next of kins; with the subtheme: Professional care of the next of kins and Next of kins is cared for with compulsory care.

Discussions: This review use Birgitta Andershed doctoral dissertation;” Att vara nära anhörig i livets slut: Delaktighet i ljuset - delaktighet i mörkret” as the theoretical starting point for discussing the darkness and light of psychiatric care, how the darkness and the light is experienced by relatives as well the specialist nurse in contact with the relatives. The discussion ends with an independent part discussing the ever-repeated negative experiences of psychiatric care.
