Samtidigt saknas konsensus i fältet om vad förändring innebär och vad som kan vara tecken på positiva respektive negativa förändringar och hur terapeuten bör förhålla sig till dessa tecken.

It has been found that a large proportion of patients do not experience any positive change from psychotherapy and that about 5-10% deteriorates during treatment.
