Relatives' experiences of palliative sedation as a relieving treatment at the end of life : A literature review (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Palliative sedation is a treatment that is often considered as the last option to relieve a patient's suffering who has symptoms that are perceived as unbearable. The most common reason a patient gets palliative sedation is because of symptoms such as anxiety and pain. A condition for a patient to receive treatment is that the patient's disease is irreversible and is expected to die within the next few days.
