Pressure ulcer prevention from a nurse perspective : A literature review (English)
Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Trycksår kan uppstå på hud eller vävnad till följd av tryck eller skjuvning. Detta är ett globalt problem som förekommer inom vården. Trycksår är en vårdskada som orsakar ett onödigt lidande för patienter. Sjuksköterskor är ansvariga för omvårdnaden och ska säkerställa en god vård. Sjuksköterskor ska arbeta förebyggande och reducera lidande.

Syfte: Syftet var att belysa sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att arbeta preventivt mot trycksår.​

Metod: En litteraturöversikt som utformats från elva vetenskapliga artiklar. En artikel innehöll en mixad metod, resten var kvalitativa studier. En tematisk analys har utförts utifrån artiklarnas resultat.

Resultat: Litteraturöversikten identifierade tre huvudteman: Kunskapens betydelse, faktorer som hindrar trycksårspreventionen och organisatoriska faktorer i arbetet.

Slutsats: I denna litteraturöversikt framkom det att kunskap är en viktig komponent för trycksårsprevention. Kunskapen hos sjuksköterskorna varierade. Hinder från att arbeta preventivt mot trycksår präglades av bristen på resurser samt tidsbrist. Trycksårsprevention bortprioriterades. Ledarskap och tydliga arbetsfördelningar var viktiga komponenter för att förebygga trycksår. 

Abstract [en]

Background: Pressure ulcer can occur on skin or tissue due to pressure or shear. This is a global problem that occurs in health care. Pressure ulcer is a health care injurey that causes unnecessary suffering for patientes. Nurses are responsable for nursing care and must ensure good care. Nurses must work preventivley and reduces the patients suffering.

Aim: The aim was to illustrate nurses experiances of working proventively against pressure ulcer.

Method: A litterature rewiev that was formed out of eleven scientifiic articles. One article contained a mixed method, the rest were qualitative studies. A thematic analysis has been made based on the results of the articles.

Results: This literature review identified three main themes: The importance of knowledge, factors that prevent pressure ulcer prevention and organizational factors at work.

Conclusions: Knowledge emerged as an important component for pressure ulcer prevention in this literature review. Nurses knowledge varied. Obstacles from working preventively against pressure ulcer were lack of resourses and lack of time. Pressure ulcer prevention was not prioritized. Leadership and division of work were important components to prevent pressure ulcer.
