Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Palliativ vård i livets slutskede syftar till att stödja patienter med obotlig sjukdom till bästa möjliga livskvalitet. Sjuksköterskans omvårdnad vid palliativ vård är att minska patientens lidande och ge en god vård. Då allt fler patienter väljer att få palliativ vård i hemmet kommer behovet av palliativ vård i hemmet öka successivt.

Syfte: att beskriva sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av palliativ vård i hemmet.

Metod: En systematisk litteraturöversikt med kvalitativ analysmetod och analyserades utifrån Evans (2003) fyra steg.

Resultat: Sjuksköterskornas erfarenheter av palliativ vård i hemmet presenteras som två huvudteman: Sjuksköterskans vård i hemmet och Hemmet som arbetsplats. Dessa är indelade i fyra subteman: kunskap och erfarenheter, stöd och samarbete, omvårdnadens möjligheter i hemmet och omvårdnadens hinder i hemmet.

Slutsats: För att bedriva en god vård i patientens hem krävs en god vårdrelation samt sjuksköterskors behov av stöd och kompetens. Arbetet med palliativ vård i hemmet upplevdes som komplext och krävande, då sjuksköterskor är i behov av utbildning, stöd och samarbete för att förbättra den palliativa vården i hemmet. 

Abstract [en]

Background: Palliative care in life aims to support the patient with an incurable disease to the best possible quality of life. The nurse has a strongly influences on palliative care by reducing the patient´s suffering and increasing the patient´s quality of life. As more and more patients choose to receive palliative care at home, the need for palliative care at home will gradually increase

Aim: The aim was to describe nurses´ experiences of palliative care at home.

Method: A systematic literature review with a qualitative analysis method has been used, where 15 qualitative articles were selected from the databases CINAHL Complete, Pubmed and Nursing & Allied Health Premium, the analysis was based on Evans´ (2003) four steps.

Results: The nurses’ experiences of palliative care at home are presented as two main themes: Nurse´s care at home and the home as a workplace divided into four sub-themes: knowledge and experiences, support and collaboration, possibilities of nursing in the home and the barriers of care in the home.

Conclusion: To provide good care in the patient´s home, a nursing relation is required as well as the need for support and competence. The work with palliative care at home was perceived as complex and demanding, where the nurses need training to improve palliative care at home.
