Bakgrund: Forskning visar att vård- och omsorgspersonal har avsaknad av eller lite kunskap om palliativ vård och att det beror på brist i utbildning och praktik. Även erfarenheter till palliativ vård och till döden bland sjuksköterskor och vård- och omsorgspersonal belyses. Sjuksköterskor behöver på olika sätt ge stöd i palliativ vård till vård- och omsorgspersonal inom äldreomsorgen.

Syfte: Att beskriva sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av att ge stöd i palliativ vård till vård- och omsorgspersonal inom äldreomsorgen.

Metod: En strukturerad litteraturöversikt med induktiv ansats baserad på systematiska principer.

Resultat: I resultatet framkommer tre teman: sjuksköterskors erfarenheter inom utbildning, sjuksköterskors erfarenheter inom handledning och sjuksköterskor erfarenheter i reflektion. Sjuksköterskor belyser erfarenheter inom teoretisk och praktisk utbildning, vilket bidrar till att vård- och omsorgspersonal kan ge palliativ vård med kvalitet. Olika förslag på utbildningsstrategier lyfts genom handledning och reflektion.

Slutsats: Sjuksköterskors stöd i palliativ vård till vård- och omsorgspersonal genom utbildning, handledning och reflektion, delvis genom praktiska moment, är betydande i vård- och omsorgspersonalens personliga och professionella utveckling. Litteraturöversikten kan bidra med kunskap och förståelse för vård- och omsorgspersonalens behov av stöd i palliativ vård.

Background: Research shows that nursing staff lack or have little knowledge of palliative care, this is due to insufficient training and practice. It also highlights the experiences towards palliative care and death among nurses and nursing staff. Nurses need to provide support in palliative care to nursing staff within elderly care in various ways.

Aim: To describe nurses' experience giving support in palliative care to nursing staff within elderly care.

Method: A structured literature review with an inductive approach based on systematic principles.

Results: The results reveal three themes: nurses´ experience in education, nurses’ experience in preceptorship and nurses’ experiences in reflection. Nurses highlight experiences in theoretical and practice education, which contributes to nursing staff in giving palliative care with quality. Different examples of educational strategies are highlighted within preceptorship and reflection.

Conclusion: Nurses support in palliative care to nursing staff through education, preceptorship, and reflection, partly by practical teaching, are important in nursing staff’s personal and professional development. This literature review can contribute with knowledge and understanding for the need of support among nursing staff within palliative care.
