Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilka ämnen som aktualiseras i trådar på internetforum där trådstartaren uppger sig vara socialsekreterare. Vidare syftar studien till att bidra med kunskap om hur närvaro av socialsekreterare uppfattas och bemöts av deltagare på internetforum.

Studien ger en ökad insyn i hur kommunikationen på internetforum kan se ut när den initierats av en socialsekreterare genom att undersöka vilka ämnen som aktualiseras i trådar där trådstartaren uppger sig vara socialsekreterare och på vilka sätt dessa trådstartare bemöts. För att besvara frågeställningarna valdes en kvalitativ metod genom att undersöka dokument i form av diskussionstrådar och inlägg på internetforum. Empirin bestod av fyra diskussionstrådar från två olika svenska internetforum där trådstartaren uppgav sig vara socialsekreterare. Dessa dokument analyserades genom tematisk analys för att få möjlighet att upptäcka mönster och teman i empirin. Slutresultatet analyserades utifrån ett teoretiskt perspektiv som bygger på tidigare forskning.

Studien visar att ämnena som aktualiseras är kritik mot samt försvar av socialtjänsten vilken fokuserades främst på bristfälliga utredningar, maktmissbruk och maktlöshet, godtycklighet, behovet av socialtjänsten och uppfattningen att socialsekreterare är ett svårt yrke. Vidare visar studien att diskussionstrådarna innehåller många frågor samt diskussioner tråddeltagarna emellan. Slutligen ger studien insyn i hur tråddeltagarna bemöter de trådstartarna som uppger sig vara socialsekreterare.

The aim of the study is to investigate the topics that arise in threads on online forums where the thread starter claims to be a social worker. Furthermore, the study aims to contribute to knowledge about how the presence of social workers is perceived and responded to by participants in online forums.

The study provides greater insight into how communication on online forums may look when initiated by a social worker, by examining the topics that emerge in threads where the thread starter claims to be a social worker and how these thread starters are treated. To answer the research questions, a qualitative method was chosen by examining documents in the form of discussion threads and posts on online forums. The empirical data consisted of four discussion threads from two different Swedish online forums where the thread starter identified as a social worker. These documents were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes in the data. The final results were analyzed from a theoretical perspective based on previous research.

The study shows that the topics that arise include both criticism and defense of social services, primarily focused on inadequate investigations, abuse of power and powerlessness, arbitrariness, the need for social services, and the perception that social work is a difficult profession. Furthermore, the study shows that the discussion threads contain many questions and discussions among the participants. Finally, the study provides insight into how the thread starters claiming to be social workers are treated by other forum participants.
