Denna studie undersöker utformningen och tillgängligheten av det stöd som ges föräldrar med familjehemsplacerade barn, genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med professionella som i sitt arbete ger stöd till dessa föräldrar. Studien undersöker hur stödet utformas och tillgängliggörs utifrån stödgivarnas arbetssätt och förhållande till sitt arbete. Analysen har gjorts utifrån tolkning av Foucaults maktteori samt Omsorgsetisk teori. Resultaten visar på att stödets utformning är likartat i samtliga kommuner, att tillgängligheten av stödet kan variera mellan kommunerna delvis genom hur kommunen tillgängliggör stödet till föräldrarna och delvis beroende av stödgivarens sätt att bemöta föräldern. Bemötandestrategierna hos stödgivarna gentemot föräldrarna varierar även om de utgår från samma förståelse om psykologiskt påverkade beteenden och reaktioner.

This thesis investigates the form and accessibility of the parental support given by social service for parents who have their children placed in out of home care. The investigation is made through semi-structured interviews with professional support givers. This thesis investigates how the parental support forms and get accessed through the support givers working methods and how they relate to their task. The analysis is made through an interpretation of Foucault theory of power and through Theory of care ethics. The results show that the support is mainly the same in all included municipalities, the accessibility of the support vary partly caused by the municipality’s way of giving access to the support and partly caused by the support giver's way to treat the parent. The support giver's coping strategies towards the parents vary even though they seem to have the same understanding of psychological influenced behaviors and reactions.
