Abstract [sv]
Bakgrund: Depression är en vanlig folksjukdom som påverkar 5,7 % av världens befolkning. Symtom som sänkt stämningsläge, nedsatt energi, sömnsvårigheter, koncentrationsproblem samt förändrad känsloupplevelse är vanliga. Fysisk aktivitet främjar hälsan och kan minska depressiva symtom. I mötet med personer med depression bör vårdpersonal inta ett personcentrerat förhållningssätt där patientens egna resurser och behov uppmärksammas och att stöd till återhämtning sker utifrån patientens förutsättningar. Vårdpersonalens bemötande kan påverka patientens upplevelse av sin egen möjlighet till återhämtning.
Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva hur vuxna personer med depression upplever fysisk aktivitet.
Metod: En litteraturöversikt har använts i denna studie och tio kvalitativa vetenskapliga originalartiklar valdes ut ifrån sökningar i Cinahl complete och PsycInfo. Artiklarna har analyserats enligt Fribergs fyra steg.
Resultat: I samtliga studier beskrev deltagare att fysisk aktivitet som åtgärd främjat det psykiska och fysiska välbefinnandet. Deltagare belyste vikten av sociala relationer, samhörighet och behovet av stöd i att övervinna motstånd.
Slutsats: Majoriteten av deltagarna i litteraturstudien upplevde ett förbättrat psykiskt och fysiskt välbefinnande av åtgärden fysisk aktivitet. Litteraturstudien belyste vikten av stöd, samhörighet och sociala relationer som en motiverande faktor för att utföra fysisk. Olika livssituation, bakgrund och kulturella skillnader påverkade vilken typ av behov och stöd som deltagarna upplevde viktiga. Litteraturstudien understryker vikten av en personanpassad vård- och omsorg med patientens behov och egna resurser i centrum. Fysisk aktivitet kan vara ett billigt alternativ eller komplement till traditionell behandling för depression.
Abstract [en]
Background: Depression is a common disease that affects approximately 5.7% of the world's population. Symptoms such as low mood, reduced energy, difficulty sleeping, concentration problems and altered emotional experience are common. Physical activity promotes health and can reduce depressive symptoms. When meeting people with depression, healthcare professionals should adopt a person-centered approach in which the patient's own resources and needs are noted and support for recovery is based on the patient's circumstances. The treatment of healthcare professionals can affect the patient's experience of their own possibility of recovery.
Aim: The aim was to describe how adults with depression experience physical activity.
Method: A literature review was used in this study, and ten qualitative scientific original articles were selected from searches in Cinahl complete and PsycInfo. The articles were analyzed according to Friberg's four steps.
Results: In all studies, participants described that physical activity as a measure promoted mental and physical well-being. Participants highlighted the importance of social relationships, togetherness, and the need for support in overcoming resistance.
Conclusion: The majority of participants in the literature study experienced improved mental and physical well-being from the measure physical activity. The literature study highlighted the importance of support, togertherness and social relationships as a motivating factor for performing physical activity. Different life situations, backgrounds and cultural differences influenced the type of needs and support the participants experienced as important. The literature study underlines the importance of personalized care and care with the patient's needs and own resources at the center. Physical activity can be an inexpensive alternative or complement to traditional treatment for depression.
